A Grade II-listed Victorian gatehouse in Wrexham is to be auctioned this month with a guide price of £125,000.
Acton Park Lodge will feature in the next multi-lot timed auction by BTG Eddisons Property Auctions, with bidding opening on 24 March and closing the following day.
BTG Eddisons Property Auctions is a national auction business formed by uniting the regional brands Pugh, SDL Property Auctions, and Mark Jenkinson. It now hosts a three-day national auction event every month.
The former gatehouse, dating from 1876, stands on a 0.21-acre plot at the entrance to Acton Park. The two-storey property has two bedrooms, off-street parking and large back gardens.
According to the auctioneers, the historic building requires comprehensive refurbishment but retains a number of original architectural features typical of Victorian gate lodges.
Edward Feather, director and auctioneer at BTG Eddisons Property Auctions, said: “This is a distinctive building right on the edge of one of Wrexham’s most popular green spaces. It’s a project for someone with vision; the Victorian architecture and generous plot provide the perfect foundation for a restoration that could result in one of the area’s most unique homes.”
He added: “The location is a major draw, with 64 acres of open parkland and lakeside walks on the doorstep, just over a mile from the city centre.
“Wrexham itself is a great city which continues to attract investment, including the Wrexham Gateway regeneration programme around Mold Road and Wrexham General station, which has surpassed £100m in funding.”
