A four-bedroom Victorian house within the Grade-II listed Wynnstay Hall Estate near Wrexham will go up for auction this month with a guide price of £200,000.
Ransome House will feature in the next multi-lot timed auction by BTG Eddisons Property Auctions, with bidding opening on 26 May and closing the following day.
The stone-built, three-storey home is set within Wynnstay Hall’s grounds on the edge of the village of Ruabon and includes large communal gardens and a residents’ tennis court.
The ancestral seat of the Williams-Wynn family, once the most powerful landowners in North Wales, the Wynnstay Hall Estate is famous for its sprawling grounds, landscaped by Capability Brown in the late 18th century.
Ransome House was built in 1876 and contains many original Victorian architectural features including sash windows, exposed timber beams and stonework.
Edward Feather, director and auctioneer at BTG Eddisons Property Auctions, said: “This is a unique property which comes with the prestige of living on one of Wrexham’s most historic and culturally significant estates. It would make a fantastic family home or lucrative investment opportunity.
He added, “The location is hard to beat: Ruabon village is the gateway to the beautiful Dee Valley and it has really good local facilities, including shops, pubs, and a primary school.
“With its own train station and easy access to Wrexham and Chester, it’s a sought-after location for professionals and families looking for a balance between countryside living and convenience.”
