A three-bedroom house located in Shipley Country Park at Mapperley, near Heanor, is to go up for auction this month with a £110,000 guide price.
The historic Pond House, a two-storey, 900 sq ft detached property, is a remnant of the era when the 700-acre estate, which surrounded the now demolished Shipley Hall, was owned by the landowning Miller Mundy family and the house was used to accommodate the estate’s gamekeeper.
Now the house is up for sale and will feature in the next live stream auction to be held by BTG Eddisons Property Auctions on 26 February.
BTG Eddisons Property Auctions is the new name for regional auction businesses Pugh, SDL Property Auctions and Mark Jenkinson, which have come together to operate as a single national brand.
The property is in need of renovation but offers significant potential. Andrew Parker, partner and auctioneer at BTG Eddisons Property Auctions, said: “This is a historic and characterful property in an exceptional setting, in the heart of Shipley Country Park. With renovation, it has the potential to become a really special family home in a beautiful green landscape.”
He added: “The house is steeped in history, having once formed part of the Shipley estate, and it would be fantastic to see it sensitively modernised and brought back into use. Despite its peaceful, rural location, it is within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham and the M1, making it an especially appealing opportunity.”
